Our Next Meeting is MAY 9

“Backyard Birds, Bees & Butterflies And More
with Suzanne & Zach Brown”

NOTE: This meeting will be at Suzanne’s home: the same location we had our Holiday Party and starts at 6:30 to take advantage of daylight.

We will visit Suzanne and Zack’s “almost farm” for an informative discussion on raising
Chickens, Bees and having a vegetable garden. Bring your note gooks for notes.  The duo will share information with us on how to enter exhibits at the Topsfield Fair as they have for years.

Hospitality Committee: Chair: Marlene Baxter with Mary Consoli, Shirley Howard, Dave Abbott, Nina Santosouosso

President’s Message:

Dear Gardeners,
What a beautiful time to be in New England! So many different plants with sparkling colors and fragrances flooding the senses. The cool morning and warm days are so invigorating. I love being a gardener this time of year. I have noticed the season is about two weeks early. My Father Hugonis Rose is already blooming and many perennials are having growth spurts.
To the members who are looking forward to showing your gardens next year, I have dug out a large supply of plants you are welcome to take. I’ll have quite a lot for the plant sale. Looking forward to Suzanne’s and Zack’s presentation.                                                           – Ken

As always, our annual plant sale will be held on the first Saturday of the month of June.

If you have never been to one of our plant sales, here’s what to expect:

  • A Wide Variety of Plants
  • Raffles
  • Fresh Cut Flowers
  • Garden Related Items
  • Refreshments
  • Old Friends from the neighborhood

At this event we give the public the opportunity to buy plants from members gardens as well as some donated from local nurseries, at exceptionally low prices. We will have a large variety of perennials and annuals to choose from.

We’ve recently added a Fresh Cut Flower Stand as well as a Sale Table of gently used and new garden related items. Both have been a big hit.

We often hear that people look forward to our events, not just for the plants, but to reconnect with old friends they haven’t seen in a while.

So whether you are an old friend or new friend, we hope to see you on Saturday June 2, 2012 between 9 am and 12. Our goods go quickly, so come early!
